Holiday Shopping Spree
In cooperation with Big K-Mart located on Dixie Highway in Waterford, our organization sponsors a day of shopping for the mentally or physically disabled underprivileged children (ages 3 to 15). Over the years this has become one of our most beloved events.

Big K-Mart generously opens its heart and doors to our organization so we can provide breakfast, shopping and fun. During breakfast, the children are paired with an Oakland County Sheriff's Department volunteer and a community high school student to begin their holiday shopping spree. Equipped with a shopping cart in one hand and their holiday gift list in the other, the team searches the store for the "perfect" gift for mom, dad, brother, sister or other loved ones on their list, which was prepared by caregivers. Each child also receives a special gift designed for him or her. December 2000 was our 10th year and we helped over 50 children celebrate the holidays. This day is made possible through the joint efforts of Big K-Mart of Waterford and our fundraising efforts.
