We would like to also extend an invitation to school groups and other organizations to lend us a hand at the Annual Fishing Derby, held on the 2nd Wednesday of August each year. Volunteers are needed at the various stations throughout the day, for everything from greeting the buses as they arrive, to stuffing the goody bags, to decorating tables and so on. For the past three years, Our Lady of the Lakes football team has generously donated their muscles to help lift individuals in wheelchairs onto and off of the boat and to assist adults and children put on their life preservers. The Hartland Girls Basketball Team have also assisted as chaperones, greeters, and helping hands in the events of the day.
